This movie was a fun one and kind of reminded of those movie-of-the-week days. It has a kind of 80s simpleness to it that just works and the space-age elements were exactly the kind of things that inspired me when I was a kid. Pretty awesome to have my track ‘Oracle’ used in this and (I believe) a second trailer for The Adam Project.

Musically speaking this was another piece created in 2020. I’m a big fan of mixing Major and Minor sound worlds and also moving key centers in major thirds. (Yes we’re entering music nerd territory here) Back in college I wrote several pieces based on the augmented scale and I thought it would be cool to write a trailer track that moves in major thirds like that.

So the middle of the track was created first and then I crafted an intro and then kind of scratched my head for a while wondering how I was going to end it. The little riff that starts the back end (which ended up being what all the picture editors used) was the very last thing I wrote.

Anyway, I’m now inspired to write more in this vein, let’s see if I can find the time to release something before the next Pandemic starts.
